She is currently focusing her practice to work with co- occurring adults using DBT and PE treatment protocols.īecky is a Nationally Certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and also has competencies in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, faith based counseling, and parenting support. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families dealing with complex issues including depression, anxiety, parent/child relationships issues, attachment disruptions, behavioral/self-regulation issues, communication issues, addiction and trauma. Her experience has been individual services as well as in-home, school systems, and group therapeutic services. She has also worked in the county level with family assessment in child protective services, and also in a juvenile detention center to provide mental health services. Becky’s professional experience has involved working in a nonprofit mental health center in many different roles such as: children’s mental health case management, community based mental health, outpatient therapy services for co-occurring disorders. Becky has worked in the social work field for over 18 years. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Areas of strength include: Work/Life adjustment/Mental Health Management, Grief, Military and Government: Occupational and Family Life Support, Transition, and Co-parenting successfully. Heather believes in using empirically based treatment strategies in therapy, while also helping individuals explore and integrate their personal belief system, culture, and story into their healing journey. She has experience and is passionate about working with adolescents and young adults who have experienced trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, anger, and emotion regulation concerns. While she thoroughly enjoys providing care to both adults and adolescents, Heather has a special interest in working with female adolescents. She supervises graduate-level interns, as well as provides individual therapy and DBT skills group services. Heather is co-owner of Highland Meadows and the Center Director. She is a part of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), and welcomes conversations about faith, if this is desired by clients. Heather has a background in elementary education and is a licensed teacher. She is also extensively trained in Prolonged Exposure (PE and DBT-PE) to treat PTSD, and ART Basic trained. She is trained and nationally certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification (DBT-LBC), and is a Minnesota Board Certified Supervisor for LPC and LPCC clinicians.
